Do you manage compliance through main contractors or directly with suppliers?
There seem to be two schools of thought here, some teams work primarily through main contractors and hold them accountable for their supply chain, while others prefer to deal with each supplier directly.
Which approach does your organisation take, and what are the pros and cons you've found in practice?

Kicking this one off from our side, we obviously don't run our own contractor supply chain, but across our client base we see a real split. Some go all-in on main contractors managing their own subbies, others insist on dealing with every supplier directly. Neither's clearly "better", it tends to come down to how much risk an organisation is willing to hand off versus how much oversight they want. Curious which way you lean and why.
